CSA Overview

Purchase Here

We offer two types of pre-purchase programs on our farm- a Farm Credit Account and a Traditional CSA.  Both have various benefits for both the customer and farmer, read below to see which suits your needs better.

What Is A Farm 'Credit Account'?:

The ultimate in flexibility- Pay in advance, and as you shop either online in advance or at our seasonal farmer's markets, we deduct your orders in our ledger.

Choose what you want, with no set pick up dates that are associated with a traditional CSA.

As an incentive for paying in advance, we give you a bonus credit:

  • For $100-$250 sign-ups, receive a 5% bonus- e.g. $105 for $100
  • For $300-$500 sign-ups, receive a 7.5% bonus- e.g. $430 for $400

Your balance rolls over into the next year, so you don't have to worry about loosing any money.

What Is A 'Traditional CSA'?:

'CSA' stands for Community Supported Agriculture.  CSA is a simple idea (very much like buying a magazine subscription) in which a “Member” buys a “Share” of a farmer’s harvest at the beginning of the growing season, and then comes to the farm to pick up their “Share” of the farm’s harvest or that share is bagged or boxed and delivered to the shareholder.  It's a convenient way for the consumer to buy fresh and local, and it helps the farmers' planning and cash flow.

Why Join A CSA?:

  • Many folks just want to experience truly fresh food and have an appetite for a variety not available at the supermarket
  • The concept of supporting local farms is important to the community’s rural character
  • It helps the farmer- a lot!  Buying a CSA share in advance means that you help to pay for the food while it's being grown.  Farm finances are tight by nature, so having some cash flow from CSA members early in the season is vital to many farmers.
  • To some families it’s about interacting with nature, visiting the farm and experiencing life on the farm and helping children learn how their food is grown
  • For some it’s about reducing the amount of food miles your food travels, and the amount of fossil fuels that is used to transport your food, (your average vegetable travels over 1500 miles before it’s consumed).
  • Transparency: you get to meet the farmers producing your food. You can ask questions about how it's produced, or visit the farm to see for yourself.
  • Many of our families enjoy the community environment where like-minded people share recipes, ideas and experiences, as well as sharing the vegetables!

The Way It Works:

  • Pick a share option- Choose what type of meat and how much you would like to receive each month.
  • Choose an 'add-on' if you would like to receive pastured eggs or lamb (available in the Fall share)
  • Select a location- Choose which drop off location works best for you to pick up your monthly share.
  • Make a payment- We offer online payments through Paypal, or we can send you an invoice for a check that you can pop in the mail.

We currently offer two seasons, each four months long, that you can sign up for.  May-August, and September-December.
